What This Feature Does
In plain terms
Reporting turns the data every module already collects into structured, reviewable output. Because animal records, health events, milk entries, breeding activity, and team actions all live in the same underlying system, a report is a query against real activity, not a separate spreadsheet someone has to build and maintain by hand.
Boma supports six report types out of the box: herd summary, health history, breeding activity, sales and movement, inventory, and audit log — covering the operational and accountability questions a farm is most commonly asked to answer, whether internally by an owner or externally by a buyer, lender, or advisor.
Every report can be filtered by date range, so a manager can pull "health history for the last quarter" or "sales and movement for the last 30 days" without needing a custom query or a developer’s help, and results can be exported for use outside the platform.

Report access follows the same farm-level isolation and role permissions as every other module — a report can only be generated from data the requesting user is already permitted to see, and only for the farm they belong to.
Because reports read directly from the underlying operational data, they are always current as of the moment they are generated, with no separate reporting database that could fall out of sync with day-to-day records.
